About the NAEMSE Skills Instructor Course
The NAEMSE Skills Instructor Course is a specialized program designed to equip EMS educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to teach and evaluate patient care skills effectively. This course focuses on the psychomotor domain of education, ensuring that instructors can teach hands-on patient care techniques, provide constructive feedback, and accurately assess students' abilities.
Participants will better understand educational theories and best practices related to psychomotor skills instruction. By the end of the course, you will be well-versed in teaching methodologies, feedback strategies, and assessment techniques specific to EMS skills, which are crucial for ensuring that students are competent in real-world patient care.
The course is available online, making it accessible to a broader audience. It is conducted exclusively in English. This course is ideal for EMS instructors looking to enhance their teaching skills and improve the effectiveness of their hands-on training programs.
Course Goals & Objectives
• To provide participants with the knowledge and strategies to effectively educate and assess student skill acquisition and performance to ensure quality patient care.
• To provide opportunities for networking with other educators, mentoring by experienced educators, and a catalyst for personal growth
Mandatory components to successfully complete the course:
• A portion of the course (3 hours of CE) must be completed online prior to class and includes educational materials pertinent to successful course completion.
• Participants are assigned to a team (group) that is tasked with completing assignments for various course components. Active engagement with team members in a collaborative learning environment is essential to achieving a successful learning experience.
