SD EMS Association District 2 will be hosting an in-person EMT class in Brandon, SD.
Class will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 1800-2200 with occasional Saturdays from 0800-1700 at the Brandon Fire Department station.
Class will start on Tuesday, September 30th and complete on Thursday, February 5th.
For students that are affiliated with or sponsored by an EMS agency (fire, ambulance, rescue squad, etc.) state EMS grant funds will cover the cost of the course. Students will be required to pay a deposit of $300 which will be refunded upon completion of the course and NREMT testing (testing outcome does not matter).
If not affiliated with or sponsored by an EMS agency, the course cost will be $1000 which includes all instruction, course materials, and first attempt NREMT testing.

Must be sponsored by an EMS organization – an ambulance director, supervisor, or chief must approve registration.
Course Schedule:
Day 1: Adult Learning Theory, Lesson Planning, Ethics, and Cultural Responsiveness.
Day 2: Legal Considerations, Emotional Intelligence, Teaching Psychomotor Skills, and Facilitation Strategies.
Day 3: Presentation Skills, Final Exam, and Course Wrap-Up.

We are again offering both in-person and virtual options. Registration for in-person conference attendance closes Saturday, November 1st and will not be extended. There are no partial conference registration options available this year.
Virtual Conference:Virtual classes will not be offered live this year. Instead, virtual conference will be opened for all attendees (in-person & virtual) approximately 1 week after the close of conference. Courses will then remain open for credit until December 10th. CEs will not be awarded for viewings after that date. The Sunday morning interfaith service will not be available for virtual attendance.
Pre-Conference:Details will be out soon, and registration will open soon! Pre-conference courses will not be available for virtual credit hours.
Banquet: One banquet ticket is included with each in-person registration. Additional banquet tickets may be added to your registration for $40 each. As a meal head count must be given to the hotel in advance, we can not guarantee additional tickets available for purchase the weekend of conference itself. Please plan accordingly & register early.

South Dakota EMS Association Annual Conference is being held October 31st - November 2nd at the Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel, Sioux Falls, SD. We expect up to 500 in-person participants for this year’s conference. Breaks between classes remain extended to allow attendees more time to visit the vendor area. In addition, there will be a Vendor Fair during a long lunch on Friday. If interested in sponsoring this lunch please reach out. Vendors are welcome to partake in snack and lunch offerings during the conference weekend.
VEHICLE VENDORS: Please note that we only have one more indoor space for a vehicle to be displayed. These spaces were first come, first serve. You are still welcome to register and bring a demo vehicle, but will be required to register as a general vendor. Please note in your registration if you intend to bring a demo vehicle. You will be able to park your demo vehicle in the parking lot closest to the conference area.

$900 for a double booth (18’x6’), additional $300 for each additional booth space (9’x6’) - Additional 1 table & 2 chairs supplied per additional booth space
Plans to utilize a display vehicle (inside) which will cost $300 per vehicle in addition to booth. - Includes 1 table & 2 chairs

Course Description:
The IC 2 course is representative of the 2002 National Guidelines for EMS educators. This course will provide educators and leaders with the tools and information needed to advance their knowledge. IC 2 represents the next step to becoming an educational leader. The fundamentals of IC 2 are built on IC 1. The recommended pathway is to complete IC 1 first before taking IC 2. This online course offers 20 CAPCE approved CEH. Please note that this course is instructed in English only.
